Brassall Bikeway construction underway

Construction on the Brassall Bikeway is well and truly underway.   The path will begin at the Brassall Shopping Centre, paralleling Bremer River connecting to the corner of Musgrave and W.M.Hughes Streets, North Ipswich and then along W.M.Hughes Street to Pine Mountain Road.  The remainder of the route into Ipswich will be line marked on the existing roadway commencing at North Street. 

The 3.5m wide concrete path will provide bicycle commuters with a fast route into Ipswich and give pedestrians a scenic historical path with rest stops and various points of interest.  A pedestrian bridge will be constructed over the MiHi Creek following the old Ipswich - Grandchester Railway Line.  It is anticipated the path and surrounds will promote the heritage of the area.  An exciting project for Division 6 and Ipswich residents!  Here's some pics of whats been constructed so far.
