Smart Ipswich showcases innovative ideas

PREPARATIONS are underway for Smart Living 2010 following the success of the inaugural event last year.

Smart Living 2009 focused on innovation, sustainability and the environment,  and provided all who attended with the opportunity to learn how to reduce their carbon footprint and help protect the environment.

Economic Development and Sustainability committee chairperson Cr Paul Pisasale said this year's event will also include healthy lifestyle choices.

"There are numerous clever initiatives and businesses in Ipswich, and Smart Living helps spread these positive ideas," Cr Pisasale said.

"The environment and health are important issues and it's necessary for consumers to know what's available so they can make smart choices.

"It's all about informed decision making."

Smart Living 2010 will be held at the Ipswich Showgrounds from July 30 to August 1.
