Apprenticeships
Australian Apprenticeships combine training and on-the-job experience so that apprentices graduated with a nationally recognised qualification and relevant experience.
Apprenticeships are available to anyone of working age and do not have any entry requirements. School-based Apprenticeships allow high school students to work with an employer as a paid employee while studying for their senior certificate.
Apprenticeships are available in many different occupations (more than 600!) and can take between 12 months and 4 years to complete, depending on the qualification being sought. The Government supports Apprentices and their employers with a range of financial incentives.
To apply for an Apprenticeship, either:
- contact a local Australian Apprenticeships Centre
- visit the Australian Apprenticeships Website
- search advertised job vacancies
- contact employers in industries where you would like to work
- discuss Australian Apprenticeships with your careers adviser
