    Arts, Community and Cultural Services committee chairperson Cr Charlie Pisasale said council was proud to support the healing process for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who continue to feel the impact of the stolen generation.

    PREPARATIONS are underway for Smart Living 2010 following the success of the inaugural event last year.

    Smart Living 2009 focused on innovation, sustainability and the environment,  and provided all who attended with the opportunity to learn how to reduce their carbon footprint and help protect the environment.

    A COMPLETE list of the city's public artworks has been compiled, drawing attention to the diverse works that enhance public spaces across all divisions.

    Arts, Community and Cultural Services committee chairperson Cr Charlie Pisasale said the list was now available on the council's website and showcased a wealth of creative pieces.

    IPSWICH City Council will turn the spotlight on the benefits of composting during May as part of an international awareness week.

    City Works Committee Chairperson Councillor Trevor Nardi said International Composting Awareness Week was an annual event which promoted compost use, knowledge and products as well as the importance of organic waste as a resource.

    A POPULAR annual Ipswich event has been re-named and included in the year-long celebration of Ipswich's 150th birthday.

    Ipswich City Council Community Engagement Committee Chairperson Councillor Heather Morrow said the 150 Years in the Park event would be held from 12pm to 5pm on April 25 in Queen's Park as part of Ipswich's sesquicentennial celebrations.

    ARTIST Lloyd Nolan Hornsby will be a special guest when up to 15 Ipswich walking groups head to Brisbane for a special outing on March 22.

    The walking groups, as part of the Heart Foundation Walking Ipswich program, will take in the area around South Brisbane, stopping at the Queensland State Library to view the Heart Foundation East Coast Aboriginal Art Exhibition.
