    IPSWICH City Council will further embrace technology to showcase the city and its attractions with Budget funding to market Ipswich online.

    Mayor Paul Pisasale said council intended to lead the way in public communication with provision of online information in a strategy to enable residents to access new ways to communicate with council.

    A NUMBER of special activities for Ipswich's seniors were given the green light in today's Ipswich City Council Budget.

    Youth and Seniors Committee Chairperson Councillor Sheila Ireland said council had allocated $2500 in the 2008-2009 Budget for Disability Action Week celebrations in Ipswich with $4500 allocated for the Ipswich Health Ageing and Disability Expo.

    THE talents of three Ipswich youths were today supported by Ipswich City Council through a special grants program.

    Youth and Seniors Committee Chairperson Councillor Sheila Ireland said council would be providing Adam Porter, Bonnie Hislop and Christopher Steinmuller with Young Performing Artists bursaries of $250 each.

    SCHOOL students across Ipswich are being asked to exercise their artistic talents in support of Local Government Week to be held from June 4 - 11.

    Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale said primary school students from years 1 to 7 were being offered a colouring in competition with the theme of this year's Local Government Week of 'active bodies, healthy communities'.
